Does Google love AI or hate it?

Hello ,

Content creators and content aggregators both are having a little bit of a tricky time figuring out how to handle AI.

As always, there’s a group of people committed to using AI as a positive tool. Using it to create articles and videos that matter and benefit those who see it. Adding on layers of their own creativity and using AI to speed up the creative process, supplement it, or make it more affordable.

Then there are the people who think they can create 10,000 pieces of content and just overwhelm everything to the point that they make money.

Sorry, it doesn’t work that way.

Spamming mindlessly was not profitable before and it won’t be profitable now whether or not it is assisted by AI.

For people like this, Google is making life harder.

The latest move is to ask people who create YouTube videos to openly declare that they have used AI to create the video they are uploading.

This way, YouTube can keep its commitment to updating viewers that a video is created using AI. 

They will also be able to gather patterns and figure out what content is working with AI and what is not.

But… is AI content working on YouTube?

If you’ve been on YouTube recently, you would see the answer.

I see a lot of AI-generated videos. Videos where the narration is done by AI and often the displayed content itself is also AI-generated.

I’ve seen beautiful presentations that are created with AI and have millions of viewers.

That’s the relationship that YouTube wants you to have with AI as a creator.

Someone who will create pretty content that people will enjoy.

Not spam.

AI is useful not just in creating content, it’s also useful in detecting spam. AI can detect email spam very convincingly, and it can also detect spam on your webpages.

Videos are not very far behind.

Here’s the takeaway

Use AI to hasten the creative process. Use AI to create better content. Do not use AI to churn out mindless content. Do not spam with AI.

If you do this, AI will work for you.
